Who am I?
My name is Karen and I am very much a Kentish Girl but with a love for a City too. I currently live in Faversham with my husband and our little boy, it’s a beautiful town in an ideal location to appreciate so much that’s around, whether it’s London or Europe. I have worked on and off in photography amongst other jobs but since starting our family I decided it was time to take it seriously and go full time.
I studied photography from A Level through to BA Hons at Portsmouth University.
My education in photography is based in traditional techniques, working with roll film and in a darkroom, this is still very much where my personal passion lies. I am still a great believer in understanding where photography has come from in order to appreciate the art and science as it is today.
What do I do?
I host photography workshops and training in and around Faversham as well as online tutorials and tips. I also offer maternity and family photo sessions.
Why do I do it?
Most of us enjoy being creative and I love to be a part of unlocking this in the people who join my training and workshops. Cameras sometimes come with a stigma that they are difficult to use and take ages to learn but this is the opposite of what is true, there are just a few fundamental basics to learn before you can be away, confidently taking great photographs, with more control of your camera too!
All of my workshops currently take place in and around Faversham in Kent. I also provide one to one training to Kent creatives who want to create stronger imagery for their brand.
